The Bolshoi Ballet Academy  is one of the oldest and most prestigious  ballet schools in the world.  It was set up in 1763 by Catherine the Great as an orphanage, ten years later in 1773 the first dance classes were taught there.

The Academy has graduated a long list of acclaimed dancers and is the school from which the Bolshoi Ballet gets the majority of its dancers.

Julian and Nicholas MacKay came to Russia from the US state of Montana to study the art of classical dance and Julian who’s now 13 has already performed on the stage of the Bolshoi.
