DANCER Joshua Tarry is as pleased as punch this week after learning he has secured a coveted place on the Junior Associate Scheme with the Royal Ballet School.

The ten-year-old, who has been training with the Ripley Academy of Dance Ltd since he was three, successfully auditioned for a place on the Junior Associate Scheme at the prestigious dance school. Joshua, from Redwood Close in Mansfield, beat off hundreds to win one of just five places on the scholarship.

He has trained in many forms of dance and drama at the Ripley Academy, based at the Beeches in the town.

And talented Joshua has already had a string of parts in TV and film productions.

Principle of the Ripley school Felicity Cutting said: “Joshua is a very talented boy who works very hard in class and he fully deserves this exciting chance to train with the Royal Ballet School.

“It is absolutely fabulous that he’s got in – he will be training with them for a whole year and we will wait and see what happens afterwards.”

Joshua is set to attend Saturday classes with the Royal Ballet School in Birmingham in September.
