Any male dancer could relate to the story of a boy who discovers a talent for ballet, says the touring musical’s choreographer

Ballet remains, however, a dicey proposition for boys. Partly because of the tough-guy street culture surrounding urban dance, boys can take up hip hop without fear of the kind of peer ridicule that’s directed at a guy who wants to study classical dance.
