Joe Barry, 7, dreams of joining the All Blacks Rugby Team so he became a ballet dancer (Rhiannon McConnell, Fairfax NZ) 2015[New Zealand] – Joe’s journey into the world of dance began when his mother, Lucy Adamson, read him an article last year about how the All Blacks found ballet the hardest training they had ever done.

“Ever since I was 4, I’ve heard about the All Blacks and heard they were a good rugby team, so I thought maybe I could be a rugby player,” Joe said.

“I’ve been wanting to do rugby and ballet because they help each other out. Ballet helps the core and rugby helps with my strength.”

Though the black jersey is a few years off, Joe has his stage debut this week [August 20th] as The Changeling in the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
